Digitize Family Tapes and Photos for Apple & Google Photos

When our family digitized our videos, we got back a thumb drive which was put in a drawer & completely forgot about.

Months later, they popped into my mind so I dug em up...and along the way discovered why we never got to enjoy em: for to experience them meant scrubbing through 39 different 2-hour long videos sitting in a random Google Drive folder.

I decided to get to work to make these as accessible as the videos I shoot on my iPhone. This led me to 4 realizations, which are the cornerstones of our service:

• Integrate: I'm only gonna watch these in Apple Photos
• Split: I'm not watching 2-hour videos, I need to clips
• Metadata: They need dates to fit well in my Photos app
• Enhance: Low quality separates you from reality

Throughout this process, I found myself tearing up every 15 minutes (usually from joy)...seing my current self in my 5 year old self, seeing my parents when they were just a few years older than me, seeing our family so different yet the same.

I realized those involved, these tapes are pound for pound the most powerful media in existence, blowing away Oscar winning films. We all deserve to experience that, and we're here to make sure it's done right.
